This video was produced through the project “Enhancing Interregional Knowledge Exchange and Capacities of National and Local Governments in Lao PDR, Madagascar, South Africa, and Sri Lanka on Financing for Urban Sustainable, Net-Zero, Climate Resilient and Nature Positive Development for the Most Vulnerable Urban Communities” under UN-Habitat’s RISE-UP flagship programme.

It highlights some of the key challenges faced by urban underserved communities in Sri Lanka and illustrates how these communities adapt and build resilience in the face of disasters. The video showcases UN-Habitat Sri Lanka’s efforts in conducting geospatial Multi Layered Risk and Vulnerability Assessments in the cities of Colombo and Wattala–Mabola to identify priority areas for informed planning and targeted resilience building interventions.
